I know, I know

Why does he keep showing us pictures from the bottom of the garden? Because I think it looks great, and this is different from the last one (trust me on this). This is the last picture taken by my photographer before she swanned off to China for a week. I'm not jealous or bitter.

Of shutters and screed

The new parts to complete the shutters are delivered

Su leaves her mark on the site by walking across wet screed. Steve found this amusing for some reason.

Week 11 - The bathrooms are tiled, and the fireplace is painted

The shower area in my bathroom is tiled

Is this a real Geoff? Perched atop the stainless steel radiator we spotted this. It is either a tribute to Matisse by our resident artist, or the tiler doesn't throw away his rubbish. The art world is divided on the true interpretation.

Damine is so pleased with his Orange Cement Mixer...

The inside of the stone fireplace and hearth are painted black

Floors in both shower rooms are tiled, and the basins installed.

Week 11 - Oak floor arrives, kitchen is fitted

After the sink and oven are fitted (the chronology is wrong here.. sorry)

Before.....

The kitchen installation starts - Darren the Carpenter (shown here..) is doing it. He took it out of the showroom when we bought it.

The Oak flooring is delivered, and they start laying it in the rear extension.

Week 10 - Seb & Ella help to move stuff.

Seb & Ella helped us move some stuff into the shed on Saturday, and got a chance to see everything first hand. They got fed up of waiting for me to update the blog just like everyone else..

Week 10 - Fireplaces and doors

A sighting of The Hummerston prowling around the site. The fireplace in our bedroom is stripped to reveal a beautiful stone surround, and the fireplace in the lounge is now finished. Damien is trying to find an answer to the eternal question - "How many Latvians does it take to strip a fireplace?"

And the new front door is fitted.

Week 10 - Rear extension is weathertight

All the glass is now in, and the flat is now weathertight. We have been very lucky with the weather so far.

Damien was very upset when he lost his Orange Digger, so we bought him an Orange Cement Mixer to make up for it. Su is admiring it from a safe distance, as it is not properly house trained yet.
